Artcoustic DF75-55 X2 On-Wall Speaker System:
L/C/R Sensitivity: 91.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz Surround Sensitivity: 87 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the DF75-55 X2 L/C/R (purple trace), Diablo Sub Panel subwoofer (blue trace), and Diablo Monitor X2 surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes. Please note that because these speakers are intended for on-wall use, it is expected that their response will diminish below 300 to 500 hertz or so when measured under our standard free-field, quasi-anechoic conditions. The Diablo Monitor X2 exhibits this anticipated behavior, and the stated results have been adjusted accordingly. The DF75-55 X2 does not. All curves in the accompanying graph are displayed as we normally do, without compensation for this special situation. The DF75-55 X2’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +0.30/–4.01 decibels from 200 Hz to 10 kilohertz with the Lift switch set to “0.” An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +2.09/–4.80 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 61 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 54 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.28 ohms at 57 Hz and a phase angle of –29.40 degrees at 823 Hz. The Diablo Monitor X2’s listening-window response measures +2.04/–2.54 dB from 400 Hz to 10 kHz with the Lift switch set to “0.” The compensated –3-dB point is at 88 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 67 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.15 ohms at 992 Hz and a phase angle of –52.49 degrees at 93 Hz. The Diablo Sub Panel’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 39 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 35 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 93 Hz with the baffle-mounted switch set to “1.”—MJP
