Measured Color Points:
The top chart shows the LT-37132's gray scale relative to its color temperature at various levels of intensity, or brightness (20 IRE is dark gray; 100 IRE is bright white). The gray scale as set by the factory, in the Low color-temperature mode and the Natural picture mode, measures slightly warm with dark images and somewhat cool with midtones and brighter images. After making adjustments using the Photo Research PR-650, the gray scale measures, well, slightly worse. There is a more accurate amount of green in the low end but a less accurate amount in the higher end. The color temperature itself is, on average, further from D6500 than it was before calibration. The bottom chart shows the gray scale (or color temperature) relative to the color points of the display's red, green, and blue color filters. These are somewhat off those specified by SMPTE. Red is very slightly undersaturated and very slightly reddish-orange. Blue is very slightly oversaturated and very slightly bluish-green. Green is fairly bluish-green. After calibration, and using a full-field 100-IRE white (134.9 foot-lamberts) and a full-field 0-IRE black (0.115 ft-L), the contrast ratio was 1,173:1. Using a 16-box checkerboard pattern (ANSI contrast), the contrast ratio was 1,077:1. The best contrast ratio was achieved with the backlight set to "63." The best black level was achieved with the backlight set to "0." In this mode, the LT-37132 produced 31.05 ft-L with a 100-IRE field and 0.027 ft-L on a 0-IRE field for a contrast ratio of 1,150:1.—GM
