Sharp Aquos LC-45GX6U
By HT Staff March 31, 2004 — Sharp has introduced what it claims is the largest LCD high-definition flat-panel now available. The company is the market leader in LCD televisions, according to a 2003 report from DisplaySearch, an Austin, Texas-based market research firm.

The new 45"-diagonally Aquos LC-45GX6U is part of Sharp's rapidly-expanding family of large-screen, elegantly-designed flat-panel TVs. With new G series models, consumers can simply connect their digital cable-ready Aquos television to their incoming cable - provided that the cable company is delivering HD signals - and enjoy high-definition TV without the need for an outboard set-top box.

Sharp's G series marks the introduction of three new screen sizes to the Aquos family: 26", 32" and 45", expanding already numerous Sharp selections now available.

Not only the world's largest available widescreen LCD HDTV, the LC-45G1U is also the only one that delivers a 1080p (progressive) image, the ultimate high definition TV standard. The television offers a bright 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution with improved contrast and faster response time, and upconverts 1080i (interlace) and 720p signals to the finer image.

Other features of the LC-45G1U include a high-quality built-in 1-bit digital audio amplifier, removable speakers built-in under the screen, a PC card slot for viewing digital still pictures and MPEG4 video, and an advanced HDMI connection for the latest digital source on the separate audio/video computer (AVC) system.
