Sharp SD-PX2 DVD/Receiver:
• Analog frequency response in stereo mode at 8 ohms: –7.79 dB at 10 Hz; –3.24 dB at 20 Hz; +0.99 dB at 20 kHz; –32.19 dB at 50 kHz • Analog frequency response in stereo mode at 4 ohms: –7.78 dB at 10 Hz; –3.23 dB at 20 Hz; –2.56 dB at 20 kHz; –33.06 dB at 50 kHz This graph shows that the SD-PX2's left channel, from VCR input to speaker output with two channels driving 8-ohm loads, reaches 0.1% distortion at 9.8 watts, 1% distortion at 13.3 watts, and 2% distortion at 16.0 watts. Into 4 ohms, the amplifier reaches 0.1% distortion at 16.7 watts, 1% distortion at 25.1 watts, and 2% distortion at 30.6 watts. THD+N from the amplifier was less than 0.051% at 1 kHz when driving 2.83 volts into an 8-ohm load. Crosstalk at 1 kHz driving 2.83 volts into an 8-ohm load was –74.44 dB left to right and –86.63 dB right to left. The signal-to-noise ratio with 2.83 volts driving an 8-ohm load from 10 Hz to 24 kHz with "A" weighting was –87.14 dBrA. From a Dolby Digital test disc in the DVD transport to the loudspeaker output with an 8-ohm load, the left channel measures –2.98 dB at 20 Hz and +1.02 dB at 20 kHz. The center channel measures –2.90 dB at 20 Hz and +1.12 dB at 20 kHz, and the left surround channel measures –2.92 dB at 20 Hz and +1.35 dB at 20 kHz. From the Dolby Digital test disc to the line-level output, the LFE channel is –0.03 dB at 20 Hz when referenced to the level at 40 Hz and reaches the upper 3-dB down point at 117 Hz and the upper 6-dB down point at 122 Hz.—MJP
